A surprising turn of events has seen the Teamsters, known for their long-standing support of the Democratic party, now backing Lori Chavez-DeRemer, a nominee for Labor Secretary under President Trump—a Republican. Sean O’Brien, the President of the Teamsters, explained this surprising endorsement during a recent interview. The union’s membership proved to be quite divided in the last Presidential election, with a striking 65% opting against the Harris-Waltz ticket.
