A Wisconsin teenager has made headlines for committing what can only be described as a twisted plot to kill his parents to fund his attempt to take out Donald Trump. Seventeen-year-old Nikita Casap is facing charges for first-degree murder after he allegedly shot both his mother and father and then lived with the bodies for days. This macabre attempt at securing a few bucks to undertake an assassination plot against Trump might just be the most sensational story to sweep through the Midwest since the cheese curds scandal of 2021.
According to reports, Casap is linked to a group known as “The Order of Nine Angels,” which should inspire exactly zero confidence in any decent human being. This group has been dubbed a satanic cult that not only promotes violence and chaos but also has a nasty habit of spewing anti-Jewish and anti-Christian sentiments. With such charmers manufacturing their own flavor of extremism, it’s no wonder young Casap found himself enamored with their charming ideology. Nothing like trying to “save the white race” through a textbook case of insanity wrapped in delusions of grandeur.

The alleged manifesto, ominously titled “Accelerate the Collapse,” reportedly included plans for not just the assassination of Trump but also dreams of overhauling the American government as a whole. To make matters weirder, he dared to buy himself a drone and some explosives. Because nothing says “revolutionary change” like a teenager armed with a drone in the heartland of America. It seems like the only thing missing from his arsenal was a kitchen sink.
The authorities have charged Casap under a slew of crimes, including hiding corpses. Disposing of his parents in a dignified manner was not on his to-do list while he plotted chaos. Local law enforcement and federal agencies had their work cut out for them, discovering that he wasn’t acting alone. There were “other parties” aiding him—almost like a pitch-perfect rendition of too many young adult novels gone wrong.
As shocking as this incident is, it’s merely the latest in a string of bizarre and violent plots against political figures. Everybody seems to have their reasons for wanting to plot chaos, ranging from ideological beliefs to sheer insanity. But isn’t it ironic that a group with roots in extremism considers itself a revolution-harbinger? If one thing is clear, it’s that no matter how far off the deep end someone might go in the name of their beliefs, the price paid won’t be for true change, but rather pandemonium disguised as political ideology.
As the FBI continues to monitor and dismantle extremist groups like The Order of Nine Angels, one has to wonder just how many more young men—disturbed and misguided—could be out there, taking cues from their warped manifestos and misguided beliefs. The Justice Department caught this one in time, but everyone should be poised for the next zany plot twist. Perhaps a lesson needs to be learned: it’s never a good sign when young people are more interested in overthrowing a government than in succeeding in classic American pastimes like baseball or barbecues.
