The Nightmare of a Cheney Appointment in a Biden Harris Administration

When it comes to the prospect of a Biden-Harris administration appointing Liz Cheney to a position of power, it’s enough to make the staunchest conservative shudder. Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of “The View,” recently expressed her hopes that if Kamala Harris claims victory in the upcoming election, Cheney would be at the forefront of the FBI or CIA. This begs the question: what kind of America would we be left with if Cheney were in charge of law enforcement agencies that already skew towards political persecution?

Cheney, hailed by the left simply because she has made it her life’s mission to oppose Donald Trump, is suddenly the golden child of the Democratic Party—a party that has, at its core, claimed to stand for the rights of the individual against government overreach. Goldber’s admiration for Cheney’s “moral core” reveals a disturbing trend among Democrats; they will overlook a politician’s authoritarian tendencies as long as they’re aligned against Trump. This praise for Cheney, a proponent of surveillance measures like the Patriot Act, turns their supposed commitment to civil liberties on its head.

In the twisted logic of the left, Cheney’s previous support for endless wars and her hawkish stance on foreign policy seems to vanish into thin air. After all, they love nothing more than throwing around the label of “extremism” at those who dare to oppose their views. Yet, in their fervor to vilify Trump, they have embraced a figure that embodies the very brand of militarism and government overreach they claim to resist. Cheney’s ascent in the eyes of the left, based solely on her anti-Trump stance, is a glaring example of hypocrisy and shortsightedness.

Even within the Democratic ranks, dissent is brewing. Some progressive Democrats have been vocal about their disapproval of Harris cozying up to Cheney. These critics suggest that Harris is sacrificing her party’s more passionate liberal base in a misguided attempt to appeal to moderate Republicans. This strategy is a significant gamble, especially when many in the party are more concerned with economic issues affecting the working class, which Harris seemingly chooses to ignore in her focus on Trump.

The thought of Liz Cheney wielding power over the FBI or CIA is no laughing matter. With a record of animosity toward Trump and his supporters, her leadership would likely intensify the government’s already troubling trend of targeting those who disagree with the administration. The enforcement of political correctness under her command could lead to widespread persecution, particularly against conservatives and anyone daring to express dissenting views.

As the Biden-Harris administration continues to flex its muscles in a concerning fashion, the idea of Liz Cheney solidifying her power is a nightmare scenario that haunts conservatives everywhere. The potential consequences of such an appointment would not only threaten the political landscape but also set dangerous precedents for the future of American democracy itself. Let’s hope that the fervor for moderate Republicanism doesn’t blind voters to the realities of what a Cheney-led regime could mean for the nation’s future.
