The recent defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election has sent the cast of “The View” into a tailspin, proving once again that the ladies on this show are not only out of touch with reality, but also seem to exist in a bizarre feedback loop of their own making. From Sunny Hostin’s emotional meltdown to calls for stricter social media regulations, one might wonder if these women keep a specially crafted survival kit for dealing with electoral losses.
Take Hostin, for instance, who lamented that her daughter now faces a future with “fewer rights” than her own. Apparently, the lid on that rich, champagne bubble of privilege is getting a bit tight. Instead of recognizing the political landscape and engaging in a constructive conversation about why Harris lost, she insisted that the vice president ran a “flawless” campaign. It must have been a different campaign more suitable for a fairy tale, rather than the one that ended in embarrassing defeat.
The View: Kamala Harris would’ve won “if we could regulate social media.”
How tone deaf is the MSM? These people want to silence your free speech to "save democracy" pic.twitter.com/g37BfKw9fa

Meanwhile, the delusion ramped up as the ladies posited that Harris would’ve turned the tide of the election if social media were more tightly regulated. Sara Haines suggested that we would be better off if the government stepped in to silence dissenting voices—because nothing screams democracy like restricting free speech. They seem to forget that people are actually capable of thinking for themselves, but it certainly seems that control is the name of the game for these self-proclaimed champions of “democracy.”

Even the show’s past co-host, Meghan McCain, blasted them for their complete lack of representation for the conservative perspective. She called it “actual malfeasance” to not include anyone on the post-election panel who wasn’t (in her words) “repulsed by Trump supporters.” It’s an interesting stance for a show that claims to present diverse viewpoints—especially when it’s clear that diversity only extends as far as the liberal playbook allows.
This whole spectacle begs the question: will the ladies of “The View” ever learn from their past mistakes? Or will they continue to spiral deeper into the abyss of denial and victimhood, while the rest of America carries on? One thing is for sure—when it comes to reality checks, they’re leaving the door wide open for some much-needed humor.
