While watching the latest political back-and-forth, one commentator noted the undeniable disconnect in how the left portrays undocumented immigrants. They completely disregard the fact that being in the country illegally is a serious legal issue. This commentary focused on the flawed argument that labeling someone as “illegal” somehow diminishes their humanity. But let’s be clear: the term refers specifically to an individual’s legal status in the country, not their worth as a person. Conservatives believe in accountability, and that includes holding individuals responsible for their choices to enter the country unlawfully.
