Meta’s Threads, the social media platform owned by Meta, is taking a hardline stance on what it considers to be “misinformation.” The company’s leader, Adam Mosseri, announced that the platform will be implementing a fact-checking system similar to the ones already in place on Facebook and Instagram. This means that if a post is flagged by an independent fact-checker, users will have the option to either decrease or maintain the post’s visibility.
Here we go again … Meta will introduce their so-called "fact-checking" onto their Threads before the next 2024 election!

But that’s not all – Mosseri also revealed that user settings to limit controversial content on Instagram or Facebook will be extended to Threads. This move comes as Threads gears up for the 2024 U.S. presidential election, showing their clear bias against conservative voices and free speech.
Since its inception, Threads has not been a hub for controversial content or news. In fact, Mosseri confirmed that the platform would be de-emphasizing news entirely, citing the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas as a reason. He argued that Threads simply couldn’t handle the supposed “onslaught of misinformation” that typically accompanies such events. Additionally, the platform has restricted searches related to contentious topics like “COVID” and “vaccines,” stifling conversation and debate.
This decision sets Threads apart from its main competitor, X, which continues to be a prominent source of news. While both platforms have launched misinformation teams in anticipation of the upcoming election, it’s clear that Threads is aligning itself with the left’s agenda to silence conservative voices and manipulate the flow of information to fit their narrative.
Meta’s Threads is cracking down on what it deems as “misinformation” by implementing a restrictive fact-checking system and de-emphasizing news content. This move is a clear indication of the liberal bias that plagues the platform and its eagerness to control the narrative heading into the 2024 election.
