It seems like there may be trouble brewing among President Joe Biden’s TikTok army. These TikTokers were previously enlisted by the White House to help with the president’s reelection campaign and spread the administration’s message to young voters. But now, they’re threatening a mutiny over Biden’s support of Israel.

The turmoil began when Hamas launched a brutal attack on Israel, causing the Jewish state to retaliate in self-defense. As the situation escalates, the anti-Israel crowd has come out of the woodwork, demanding a ceasefire. Even though Biden initially expressed his support for Israel, the far-left forces are pressuring him to change his stance.
A group called Gen-Z for Change, formerly known as TikTok for Biden, has joined forces with other leftist groups to pen a public letter urging Biden to reverse his support for Israel. They warn that young voters may stay home or vote third party in the 2024 election if he doesn’t. They argue that Biden’s backing of Israel’s counteroffensive risks alienating younger voters who are deeply disturbed by his position on the war.
Now, here’s the true irony of the situation: the letter doesn’t even mention or condemn Hamas. It conveniently leaves out the fact that Hamas launched the initial attack and continues to engage in acts of terrorism. Instead, these young influencers are solely focused on criticizing Biden’s support for Israel.
But are these TikTokers really influential enough to sway the 2024 election? While it’s true that a significant percentage of young people get their news from TikTok, they still don’t represent the majority. And let’s not forget that Biden won the election without overwhelming support from young voters in the first place. So, it remains to be seen whether this will truly be a make-or-break issue for young voters in the upcoming election.
Nonetheless, it’s clear that there is a significant portion of young voters who are not happy with Biden’s stance on Israel. Will their dissatisfaction be enough to sway the election? Only time will tell.
