Ohio Senate hopeful Bernie Moreno is causing quite a stir in the Republican primary race. While he may have the backing of former President Donald Trump, his past support for California-like gun control laws is raising eyebrows among conservative voters in the Buckeye State. Seriously, California laws? Might as well hand out participation trophies to criminals while we’re at it!
During a 2019 interview, Moreno voiced support for restrictions on magazine capacities, echoing the cries of the anti-gun left. Can you believe it? The nerve of limiting the number of rounds law-abiding citizens can have to defend themselves. It’s like saying we should fight fires by spraying gasoline on them!

In a bizarre twist, he compared gun control to locking your door – yeah, because that’s the same as stripping away our Second Amendment rights. I lock my door to keep out raccoons, not to stop home invaders with bad intentions. What’s next, comparing gun control to how we rate movies? Ridiculous!
And here’s the kicker – Moreno even sat on the board of a group that funneled money to one of the nation’s leading gun control organizations. It’s like funding a pack of wolves to take care of your sheep. The irony is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal in a snowstorm!
Sure, he’s trying to walk back his past comments now, claiming his views have evolved. But can we trust someone who once danced with the gun control devil to protect our cherished Second Amendment? I’d trust a cat to guard my fish tank before trusting Moreno to defend our gun rights.
With fellow Republican contenders in the race and Trump’s endorsement in his pocket, Bernie Moreno may have an uphill battle convincing conservative voters that his newfound stance on guns is sincere. Beware, Ohioans – wolves in sheep’s clothing are roaming the political landscape, and they just might be wearing a MAGA hat.
