Another day, another dizzying spin from the leftist media. This time, it was President Donald Trump once again tearing into CBS for cooking up more of its signature fake news. The latest episode featured not one, but two dubious stories criticizing the former president, one involving the ongoing Ukraine conflict—a situation many agree would never have spiraled out of control if the 2020 election hadn’t been rigged—and the other focusing on Trump’s interest in Greenland. Clearly, the network’s disdain for Trump knows no bounds and has prompted calls for action, including a push for the FCC to consider revoking CBS’s broadcast license.
Between the usual unfair treatment and the woefully inaccurate portrayals, CBS has carved out a reputation for itself that would make even the most egregious tabloid blush. The hit to Trump last weekend was particularly blatant, with a “60 Minutes” program that zigzagged deafeningly in its bias. Instead of an objective look at the Ukraine situation, the segment unashamedly strutted around with apologist vibes while the Ukrainian President vented about the supposed intransigence of Russia. The visuals suggested that Trump and Putin were the villains plotting to rob innocent Ukrainians of their future, while the reality on the ground paints a much different picture.
CBS seems to thrive on its reputation for distortion. For instance, its prior nonsense included a highly manipulated interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris, revealing that the network excels at crafting narratives designed for election meddling, rather than responsible journalism. Instead of releasing the raw footage from that interview when Trump notably sued for $10 billion, CBS opted for silence, hoping to bury the truth under layers of deceitful editing. Such tactics serve as a glaring reminder that the left is willing to go to great lengths to maintain its grip on power.

In a particularly ridiculous twist, CBS aired a piece that depicted Trump’s interest in Greenland as some kind of imperialistic folly. This narrative clearly struck a chord with local voices, like Aqqaluk Lynge, among others, who were quick to defend their home. Instead of addressing the genuine people-to-people business interests involved, CBS peddled grievance politics cloaked under the guise of responsible reporting. In doing so, they showcased a woeful lack of understanding of the region and its potential, all while sowing discord where none should exist.
What CBS continues to ignore is the fact that under Trump’s leadership, America was thriving, and the media frenzy at his expense only makes the network look further out of touch with everyday Americans. Their insatiable desire to paint Trump in a negative light has forced them to engage in increasingly absurd antics that only serve to highlight their declining credibility. It would be wise for CBS and similar outlets to reassess their strategies if they wish to maintain any semblance of respect in journalistic circles rather than be viewed as activists masquerading as reporters.
As this absurd saga unfolds, one thing is certain: the battle against leftist media bias is as important as ever. With the FCC now under pressure to hold CBS accountable for its outrageous conduct, it remains to be seen if any meaningful changes will come about, or if the network will continue its downward spiral into irrelevance. The public deserves an honest and fair media landscape, free from the kind of laughably biased reporting that has no place in a democracy.
