The only drama to be found would be Harris trying to avoid answering questions while the moderators flail about trying to appear unbiased. Trump’s approach demonstrates a wise choice to focus on delivering a message that resonates with everyday Americans rather than engaging in empty chatter.
Some might argue that Harris experienced a so-called “bump” in popularity post-debate, but other polls indicate the opposite is true, particularly in states like Michigan. It’s questionable whether any debate—good or bad—actually alters the dynamics significantly. As the political theater plays out, it’s clear that most voters are more concerned about their daily lives and the issues plaguing the nation rather than anecdotal gains from a debate stage.
Meanwhile, Democrats continue to scramble, and Harris’s campaign may label Trump as a coward for declining another round in the ring. Yet, this would be a hollow challenge, reminiscent of a child at the playground who’s looking for attention. Trump understands that the real fight is about substance, not gimmicks, and he would much prefer to take his message directly to the voters where it will have the most impact. With so many pressing concerns on the table, it makes sense for Trump to steer the conversation back toward what really matters as the election draws near.
