The so-called “Green New Deal” has finally hit a brick wall—and Americans should celebrate. President Trump and his EPA just threw out one of Barack Obama’s worst power grabs: the 2009 vehicle emission rule, which forced automakers down a dead-end road toward electric cars nobody wants. For sixteen long years, regular folks have been punished by these climate cult mandates, driving up car prices and choking out choice on the dealership lot.
Liberal elites pushed the electrification of everything, promising us clean air, green jobs, and a future powered by unicorns. What did we actually get? Sky-high auto prices and massive losses for American automakers. The numbers tell the real story: Stellantis flushed $26 billion down the drain, Ford took an $11 billion hit with more pain ahead, and even GM admitted to blowing $7 billion on this green fever dream. All to make politicians and globalists happy, while working-class taxpayers foot the bill.

It turns out, the only thing electric about this EV push was how quickly it drained wallets. American families got stuck paying more for cars because of endless paperwork, emissions testing, and silly start-stop features nobody asked for. Even the average price of a new car shot past $50,000. How’s that for “climate justice”? Meanwhile, climate alarmists kept yelling, automakers kept hemorrhaging cash, and millions of Americans were priced out of owning reliable transportation.
Trump’s EPA finally brought some real common sense back from exile. Scrapping this Obama-era nonsense means real Americans finally get more choices—not just a handful of bland electric cars gathering dust on dealer lots. And let’s be real, nobody is clamoring for “features” like automatic start-stop that only make driving more annoying. The old EPA rule was always about control, not climate. Liberals loved it because it let them micromanage what you drive, how you drive, and how much you pay for it.
The bottom line? The so-called “Endangerment Finding” was nothing but a Trojan horse—packed with hidden taxes, stifling rules, and fake environmental promises. Wiping it away is a direct shot at liberal incompetence and woke overreach. Finally, the American Dream is getting out of the shop and back on the open road. Isn’t it time Washington stopped listening to globalists and climate warriors, and started listening to American workers and families for a change?
