Trump Launches Sweeping DOJ Overhaul, Axes Biden-era US Attorneys

President Donald Trump, unflinching in his commitment to draining the swamp, has unleashed a bold plan to rid the Justice Department of its “Biden Era” U.S. attorneys. On his preferred platform, Truth Social, Trump described how the Department of Justice has spiraled into unprecedented levels of politicization over the last few years, asserting it’s time for a comprehensive house cleaning. He made it abundantly clear: the DOJ needs a revival, and that revival begins with a decisive shake-up of its top prosecutors.

The proclamation landed with the force of a cannonball as Trump directed the immediate termination of all remaining U.S. attorneys who served during the Biden administration. With 93 U.S. attorneys sprinkled across the country—each one a key player in federal prosecution—the decision could flip the script on how justice is administered at the federal level. Many conservatives have long argued that the agency has strayed from its intended purpose, and Trump’s latest move is a step toward restoring integrity and fairness in America’s judicial system.

This call for an overhaul didn’t come out of the blue. Just last week, letters were sent from Trump’s administration informing several U.S. attorneys of their sudden termination. While it’s not unusual for U.S. attorneys to clean out their offices at the start of a new presidential term, the stark formality of termination letters caught many off guard. It seems Trump is skipping the usual niceties and going straight for the jugular, questioning decades of appointed loyalty to previous administrations.

Already, the fallout has begun, with high-profile resignations of several federal prosecutors. Notably, Danielle Sassoon, the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, bowed out after being instructed to drop corruption charges against Democratic Mayor Eric Adams. As the administration positions itself for a renewed fight against corruption, more resignations may be on the horizon, much to the dismay of those entrenched in the politically correct enforcement of law.

What’s behind this sweeping dismissal of federal officials? Trump and his team recognize a systematic bias growing within the federal agencies, with many in the bureaucracy wielding their power against the new administration, not to mention against conservatives and Trump supporters. As accusations of “lawfare” emerge from the progressive left, Trump’s administration stands resolute in its mission to neutralize this weaponization of government and restore a more balanced and just system.

As the drama unfolds, it’s clear that a major seismic shift is occurring in the federal judiciary landscape. With his trademark fearless attitude, Trump is working to reclaim a sense of fairness in the legal system, ensuring that “America’s Golden Age” doesn’t just become a distant memory. In his eyes, an essential part of this endeavor is to ensure a judiciary that works for the American people—not against them.
