Documents linked to the FBI’s infamous Crossfire Hurricane investigation into the non-existent Trump-Russia collusion are still under wraps, but lucky for America, President Trump has decided enough is enough and he’s cracking open the vault. A recent order from him aims to finally shed light on the muck that both the FBI and the Justice Department have kept hidden since Trump took office. In typical fashion, the bureaucrats have done a great job of kicking the can down the road, making sure that important information remains in the dark.
Back in January of 2021, Just the News managed to snag some of the Crossfire Hurricane documents that were originally set for declassification. However, most documents remained as inaccessible as Congress’s grasp on common sense, thanks to the Justice Department blocking Trump at every turn. The documents revealed a treasure trove of questionable tactics employed by the FBI, including transcripts of surveillance on Trump’s aides and FISA warrants that would make any civil liberties advocate cringe. Yet, like all good government work, large sections remain redacted, creating a veritable Swiss cheese of information.
In a new executive order issued in late March, Trump voiced a familiar frustration over the FBI’s concerted effort to keep certain materials classified. He made it clear that he sees no reason why these documents should remain shadowed in bureaucracy. Despite the nebulous claims that some items do need to stay classified, his order speaks volumes: documents that were originally going to vanish into a black hole are coming back to light—one redacted line at a time.

The declassified materials include troubling details about the FBI’s interactions with Christopher Steele, the man behind the equally infamous Steele dossier. We can only imagine what fun details are locked up behind those black bars of censorship. To add insult to injury, the lavish spending on surveillance and informants has resulted in minimal evidence of wrongdoing—something the Mueller investigation confirmed. It’s becoming clearer that the FBI was more focused on political agendas than on justice.
Moreover, the saga dives deeper into the FBI’s historical propensity for bias. With significant figures like Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok at the helm, the idea that the FBI operated with integrity seems as far-fetched as claiming that the sun rises in the West. Any semblance of accountability vanished faster than taxpayer dollars spent on new bureaucratic methods to obscure the truth. Ironically, while the FBI conducted hit jobs on Trump’s associates, they provided Hillary Clinton with a soft pillow and a defensive briefing about a potential foreign influence.
In the end, the revelation of these documents promises to reinvigorate old debates about surveillance, accountability, and the deep state lurking within U.S. intelligence. As the Biden administration continues to drag its feet, the public watches closely, eager to discover what truth lies lurking behind the redactions. It only begs the question: what else are they hiding?
