Nothing is shocking about weak leaders failing in Washington. But this week, real leadership finally won. Joe Kent just resigned as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, and President Trump couldn’t have been clearer: it’s a good thing he’s out. The plain truth is America can’t afford softness when terrorists and foreign enemies want to tear our country down.
For too long, Kent sided with globalist bureaucrats and let security slip through the cracks. He never took the bold steps needed to protect Americans. Under Kent’s watch, priorities blurred while the safety of our families took a backseat. Anyone with common sense knows that a leader who puts political correctness above national defense isn’t fit to protect the homeland.

This is exactly the kind of dangerous incompetence liberals love to ignore. Instead of demanding that our security chiefs stand strong, left-wing media would rather play make-believe and parade soft-spoken bureaucrats like Kent as heroes. But when push comes to shove, being weak on security invites disaster. President Trump called it what it is—and Americans are safer for it.
It’s past time to stop playing footsie with woke ideology in our most critical institutions. Our enemies don’t care about hurt feelings; they care about exploiting weakness. Trump is showing what real leadership looks like by holding these bureaucrats accountable. Liberals would rather talk about climate change and “diversity” while the border stays open and radical threats grow.
America needs fighters, not quitters. Leaders who tiptoe around real dangers don’t deserve powerful positions. Maybe with Kent gone, the National Counterterrorism Center can finally focus on its real job—keeping America safe. Isn’t that what the American people deserve?
