Donald Trump is about to take the stage at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Chicago, and it’s shaping up to be quite the spectacle. The former president is slated to participate in a Q&A session with political journalists, diving right into discussions that tackle issues facing the Black community. It’s a bold move that could either shake things up or provide fodder for those who love to pick apart his every utterance.
Ken Lemon, the NABJ President, seems eager for what Trump has to say, indicating that there’s a lot of interest among convention attendees. This comes at a time when many are looking for fresh and direct answers regarding the state of affairs within communities of color. One can’t help but wonder if Trump will engineer any sort of election roadmap for his renowned base while engaging with journalists who might not always be his biggest fans.

The visit is expected to energize local Republicans, which must have the party feeling a bit giddy. In a city that often leans blue, Hernandez sees Trump’s outreach as pivotal for the GOP. His assertion that they are gaining traction across various demographics will likely send shivers down the spine of the Chicago Democrat machine. Meanwhile, he reminds everyone that during Trump’s presidency, the economy was robust, inflation was under control, and everyone seemed to take home a little more bacon.
