Setting records is what former President Donald Trump does best, and his recent joint session of Congress was no exception, clocking in at a staggering 99 minutes. This impressive duration beats the previous record held by Bill Clinton, who only managed an 89-minute blather back in 2000. It’s almost as if Trump thought, “Why say it in 30 words when you can say it in 30 minutes?” For a nation that thrives on bold statements, this spectacle was a show of political bravado that few could match.
The speech not only broke records but also showcased Trump’s determination to restore American greatness, making it clear that the momentum is back, right along with its spirit and pride. Despite the grandiose plans Trump presents, including rebuilding infrastructure like an enormous natural gas pipeline project and a top-notch missile defense shield, some Democrats apparently would prefer to sit on their hands. No wonder he humorously marveled at their capacity to ignore lively achievements that would normally garner bipartisan applause.
