Isn’t it refreshing to see a leader who knows when to call it like it is? President Trump isn’t wasting time on Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz. Why should he? Walz has proven to be out of touch, fully deserving of Trump’s assessment. With the tragic shooting of state lawmakers in Minnesota, some might expect the usual political niceties. But can anything productive come out of talking to a governor who’s so lost he’s barely able to govern effectively?
Trump has more pressing issues that need his attention. America faces real challenges that demand leadership, not chit-chat with ineffective governors. The president is juggling the fallout of serious international tensions while fighting to restore the American economy. Meanwhile, Walz’s state fails to manage local politics and keeps appointing people like Vance Boelter, the suspect responsible for the violent crimes. Is a call from Trump going to suddenly clear the fog that surrounds Governor Walz? Hardly.
Instead of a pointless call, Trump could focus on the real victims in this tragedy. Giving a direct voice of support to Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife would not only show true compassion but would also shine a light on Walz’s dysfunction. Walz can’t protect his own lawmakers – why waste a minute trying to talk sense into him?

The establishment might criticize Trump, claiming a phone call to Walz is “tradition.” For what? To stroke the ego of a governor who invites chaos to his doorstep by failing at basic governance? Trump is right to brush off this empty gesture and focus on bigger fish to fry, like protecting America’s interests at home and abroad.
At the end of the day, picking up the phone for Walz would be like yelling into the wind. It’s time for leaders who are willing to act instead of talk. And if anyone thinks otherwise, they might need to examine if they stand for results or just empty words.
