India has long been a significant buyer of Russian military gear, adding fuel to Russia’s war machine while the world is urging them to stop the violence in Ukraine. How can a nation claim to be a friend of the United States yet funnel funds to a rogue state actively engaging in aggression? It’s about time someone called them out on this duplicitous behavior.
Despite claims of friendship, India’s trade practices have consistently placed America at a disadvantage. With their ridiculously high tariffs and numerous trade barriers, India has made it difficult for American businesses and consumers alike. Trump’s decision to impose a 25% tariff—and an additional penalty—should be a wake-up call not only for India but for all nations who think they can enjoy American friendship while supporting hostile adversaries.

Predictably, the left-leaning Indian political parties are whining about this decisive move. But let’s be clear—the punishment was necessary. The same bureaucrats who criticize Trump are the ones who have enabled India’s harmful trade practices for years. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds when they plead foul only because the consequences of their actions are finally catching up to them.
This tariff is not just about military purchases or trade imbalances. It’s a message to the world that under Trump, the United States will not roll over for anyone. It’s time our so-called allies understand that friendship with the U.S. is a privilege—not a right. If India wants to maintain this relationship, it’s high time they evaluate their actions and pick a side.
