President Donald Trump secures the Republican nomination once again! The Real Clear Politics 2024 Republican presidential nomination poll average chart tells the whole story. Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida was gaining some momentum, creeping up on Trump with 30% support, but then, in a dramatic twist, Trump soared ahead by 10 percentage points while DeSantis took a nosedive. What caused this sudden shift, you ask? Well, hold onto your hats, folks, because it was none other than an outlandish indictment of Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for supposedly “falsifying business records.”
As if that weren’t enough, Democrats from all corners came out of the woodwork with legal attacks on Trump. The Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, and special counsel Jack Smith just couldn’t resist taking swings at the former president. It’s as if they were all competing in a “Who Can Come Up with the Most Far-Fetched Legal Theories Against Trump” contest.

But wait, there’s more! While the Democrats were playing their legal games, Biden’s Department of Justice was doing some top-notch gymnastics to cover up the shady business dealings of the Biden family. Hypocrisy, anyone?
Even those Republicans who were a tad iffy on Trump couldn’t sit back and watch this spectacle without standing up for their guy. The Democrats may have had their sights set on pushing Trump out of the picture, but the GOP was not about to let them call the shots. And can you blame them? After all, Biden’s former communications director straight up spilled the beans on CNN, admitting that the White House is practically praying for Trump to be the nominee.
Now, here we are faced with the possibility of a Trump-Biden rematch, and let’s be real, folks – ain’t nobody thrilled about that prospect. Biden’s glory days of being the “competent adult successor” to Obama are long gone. Instead, he’s now seen as a relic in a chaotic and dangerous world. The economy’s in shambles, global conflicts are boiling over, and the southern border looks like a scene straight out of a dystopian novel.
So, it’s a mess, plain and simple. The only silver lining in this whole darn situation is that in four years, we’ll at least have a shiny new candidate to shake things up. And thank goodness for that. After all, who in their right mind would want to endure another round of Trump vs. Biden? Not the vast majority of us, that’s for sure!
