President Trump is ready to act, and it’s about time someone took a stand for Christians being persecuted across the globe. For far too long, the people in Nigeria and the surrounding region have suffered under the tyranny of ISIS-aligned militants. Worse still, Christians have been explicitly targeted by these radical groups, and the world has merely offered symbolic gestures with feeble responses. But no more under this president’s watch.
Since 2009, Nigeria has been in turmoil because of Boko Haram and their evil offshoots, and what has the so-called global community done? They’ve offered weak condemnations and half-measures that leave terrorists emboldened and Christians in grave danger. Today, Trump sends a clear message to those who spill innocent blood: This ends now. If the Nigerian government won’t protect its citizens, America will step in and make it right.

When Barack Obama was president, he floundered through moral posturing with little effect. His administration failed to provide decisive action against these insurgents, even after the shocking Chibok kidnappings. Enter President Trump, who has illustrated that America’s values mean something and that our resolve will be unwavering.
Liberals can whine all they want about intervention, but the facts remain: We cannot stand by while innocent lives are snuffed out by jihadist violence. The Department of War has made it clear, preparations are underway. Our nation is ready to do what it takes to protect Christians and stop radical Islamists in their tracks.
Isn’t it time we stopped coddling incompetence and started showing strength? The answer is clear. America must lead the charge, and in doing so, sends a resounding message to the world: We will not let the fear of so-called global backlash prevent us from doing what’s right. Who will step up if not us? Certainly not the failed politicos who have led a chorus of empty promises.
