Former President Donald Trump was dealt a blow in his New York civil business fraud trial after the judge shut down his plan to give a personal closing argument. Oh boy, it’s like the judge is saying, “Sorry, Donny, no show for you!” The judge said Trump would have to stick to “relevant” matters, but his lawyers were not happy about this one bit.

This trial could cost Trump millions and basically kick him out of business in New York! Yikes, talk about rough times ahead for the former president. His lawyers had given a heads-up last week that he was planning to give a personal closing argument – a bold move for sure. But the judge said, “Not so fast, buddy!”
New York Attorney General Letitia James is behind this whole mess, claiming that Trump inflated his net worth by billions for financial statements. You see, this is all a political attack! James and the judge are Democrats, so it’s like they are out to get poor ol’ Trump.
The judge initially approved Trump’s request to give his own closing argument, but with some serious restrictions. Like, he couldn’t go off on irrelevant tangents or deliver a campaign speech. Then Trump’s lawyer was like, “Hold up, these restrictions are totally unfair!” In the end, it looks like Trump won’t be getting his way on this one.
And get this – Trump had already irritated the judge by making some not-so-nice comments about the case on social media. The judge even gave him a hefty fine for repeatedly breaking the gag order. That’s some serious chump change!
Despite all this drama, Trump did testify in the case and went head-to-head with the judge and state lawyers. But in the end, he decided not to testify again, saying he had “nothing more to say.” Classic Trump move, right?
