President Trump sure knows how to get people talking. When he cracks a joke, you better believe it’s a headline. This time, he turned his wit toward the President of Syria during his visit to the White House. As usual, Trump didn’t miss a beat, gifting the Syrian leader a bottle of cologne and turning it into a comedy goldmine. Who would have thought a simple cologne could turn into such a memorable moment?
While the mainstream media loves to clutch their pearls at Trump’s humor, it’s refreshing to hear a leader who doesn’t succumb to the overly sensitive standards of the politically correct brigade. Trump’s quick remark about Syrian customs reminded everyone of the brutal regime that just came to an end. Bashar al-Assad, the former dictator, was nothing short of a menace to his own people, as his horrific chemical attacks proved time and time again. It was under the watch of the previous administration that these atrocities were ignored. Thank heavens someone with a backbone has finally stepped up.

Liberals can cry foul all they want, claiming Trump’s approach is improper. But can you blame him for making light of a situation with a newly formed Syrian government when the previous administration failed to act at every turn? The Obama administration drew a so-called “red line,” only to watch Assad trample all over it. When it was time for action, they were too busy wasting time with endless debates and hand-wringing.
In Trump’s world, a decision is a decision. He doesn’t hide behind bureaucratic nonsense. His decisive lifting of sanctions on Syria to foster new beginnings shows a leader willing to take chances for America’s interests. While liberal commentators gnash their teeth at his approach, Trump’s unpredictability and honesty make a mark – even if the Swamp hates to admit it.
The question isn’t whether Trump’s comments are on point. They are! The real question is, when will liberals stop succumbing to their ideological echo chambers and recognize effective leadership when they see it? Trump’s zingers might leave the progressives seething, but isn’t it sweet watching the snowflakes melt?
