For too long, Vietnam had been hit with a hefty 46% tariff, a move that Trump executed brilliantly earlier this year during his bold “Liberation Day” tariff announcements. Now, with this new agreement, Vietnam not only skirts those tariffs by committing to pay a lesser 20% tariff on goods and a 40% on transshipping, but they also open their market wide to American goods, specifically with zero tariffs. It must be noted that this level of diplomatic strength and negotiation power was nonexistent during previous administrations, which only allowed globalist interests to chip away at American prosperity.
