Former President Donald Trump and his legal team managed to secure a much-needed victory in the ongoing New York civil fraud trial, sending shockwaves through the courtroom. Judge Arthur Engoron’s order to dissolve elements of Trump’s real estate empire and revoke his business certificates was temporarily blocked after an appellate court judge ruled in favor of the former president. Interestingly, while Trump’s attorneys were successful in preventing the immediate enforcement of Engoron’s order, their broader request to pause the entire trial indefinitely was denied.

Trump’s legal counsel, Chris Kise, exuded satisfaction with the appellate ruling, highlighting that it had suspended the trial court’s overreach by putting a stop to the cancellation of business certificates and the dissolution of assets beyond the scope of the case. However, the New York Attorney General, Letitia James, viewed the ruling differently, dismissing it as just another “delay tactic” deployed by Trump’s legal team. She celebrated the rejection of their attempt to evade justice, emphasizing that the judge had already ruled in her favor, concluding that Trump had committed repeated and persistent fraud.
