Journalism today is in crisis. It’s been hijacked by storytelling techniques meant to manipulate rather than inform. When Americans turn to the news, they expect facts. Unfortunately, they’re getting stories laced with fiction strategies designed to make up their minds for them. This is an insidious attack on the truth that dismisses the intelligence and agency of the reader.
Consider the clever tricks being employed. Techniques like controlling detail, pacing, and inner thoughts—once tools of fiction—are now disguised as news. This creates an emotional narrative before a reader even gets the facts. It’s not informing; it’s indoctrinating. Yet, the leftist media, always eager to push their agenda, portray this as modern journalism. It’s manipulation, plain and simple, and it’s eroding trust in the media.

When news is laced with unnecessary drama and guided sympathy, it doesn’t empower; it deceives. Journalism is supposed to be about facts, allowing readers to judge for themselves. But now, stories are crafted to ensure the reader feels a certain way before they even comprehend the issue. All while ignoring uncomfortable truths that detract from the emotional fairy tale being built. That’s not journalism, that’s propaganda, and it’s a practice encouraged by out-of-touch academia promoting narrative over disclosure.
It’s telling how left-leaning outlets use these methods to steer opinions in their favor. This isn’t just about a drift in standards; it’s about shaping minds to align with globalist ideals packaged as concern. There’s a word for this: dishonesty. While they try to redefine what journalism means, we must demand they return to what it should be: fact-driven and honest.
The American spirit deserves better. Readers should be presented with facts so they can make their own decisions. Otherwise, what’s next in this erosion of our media’s integrity? If journalism continues down this road, it risks losing its very identity. Isn’t it time we insisted journalists stop playing novelist and start respecting the intelligence of the American public?
