There is scary new information about what has gone wrong at the southern U.S. border since Joe Biden took office. A study from the House Judiciary GOP says that changes in policy made by the Biden administration have caused a lot more people to cross the border illegally and fewer people to be arrested inside the country. People, this is not good news!

From January 20, 2021, to March 31, 2023, Biden's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) could only remove less than 1% of the people who came into the country illegally. The way they treat our national security is like a game of hide and seek! The processes used by immigration courts have not worked at all under the Biden government.
The study talks about how the Biden administration's lax rules and "priorities" have made it less likely to arrest and deport aliens. Some people who work for ICE, like those in the Enforcement and Removal Operations, think that the number of illegal immigrants released has gone up while the number of people removed has gone down. This is going to end badly, people!
Stats show that since Biden took office, Customs and Border Protection has seen more than 6.2 million illegal immigrants at the southwest border. That's lots of people, enough to fill many venues! There were more than 5 million of these meetings between January 20, 2021, and March 31, 2023. As of March 31, 2023, more than 2.46 million of them were still in the U.S. They look like they're putting together a tent city down there!
As many as 2.15 million illegal immigrants were let into the country by the Department of Homeland Security during this time period. As if they were letting criminals off the hook for free! Another 205,473 were released on parole through certain programs. There's more, though! From April to September 2023, there were more than 1.2 million more meetings. That's enough for them to build a city!
And kids and teens are also crossing the line. Families, or people who say they are families, are also taking advantage of the chaos. More than 1.1 million family units were let into the U.S. from the beginning of the fiscal year in 2021 to July 2023. It looks like a lot of people are playing house! And another 188,524 were sent to ICE to be held until they could be released. It looks like they want to make our country like a big daycare!
People in the Biden administration may try to play down the immigration problem, but Border Patrol agents have told different stories. The new rules and the large number of refugees are making it hard for these brave men and women. They are overwhelmed and angry. They don't need more empty promises; they need help and funding.
As one Deputy Field Office Director said, half of his office's officers had to be redirected to process foreigners. This made it much harder for them to arrest and deport criminal aliens. It looks like they're making it hard for police to do their jobs! And a memo from the Biden administration that says ICE police can't do anything near courthouses is making things even worse. It's like they're giving thieves a place to hide!
If things keep going the way they are, it will take ICE twenty years to remove aliens who have final orders to be sent back to their home country who are not in jail. Yes, twenty years! We don't have time to wait that long. To protect American neighborhoods and keep our borders safe, we need to take strong, clear action. The Biden government needs to step up and make sure Americans are safe!
