Notably, all three Republican lawmakers expressed their support for Israel in Biblical terms.

Republican Rep. Pete Sessions of Texas embraced the Biblical context without hesitation. He stated, “This entire matter is based upon faith of our Maker, of our Creator, but it’s also a faith of a chosen people.” Fang then caught up with Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, who proclaimed, “There have been two nations created to glorify God: Israel and the United States of America.”

Fang’s final interview was with Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee, where he delicately touched on the topic of religious extremism and its possible impact on US support for Israel. Burchett defended the Baptist and evangelical community, saying, “I wouldn’t label the Baptist or the evangelical community as extreme… they’re following the Scripture and what the Scripture says about Israel.” When asked about the Second Coming of Christ, Burchett confidently stated, “I believe Jesus will come back. And I’m gonna be on His side.”

However, no such passionate support for Israel was found in the interview with Democratic Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina. Clyburn’s responses lacked enthusiasm and amounted to little more than echoing the Democratic party line. It’s clear that his subservient attitude disappointed both Fang and the user community on social media.
