When you’ve got President Joe Biden and Speaker Nancy Pelosi flaunting their Catholic faith like it’s a badge of honor, you’d think they’d actually abide by the teachings of their church. But these two have used their political clout to push for policies that directly contradict what the Catholic Church stands for, especially when it comes to the sanctity of life. Why? Because putting on the Catholic title is just another political tool for them. It’s all about appearance, not actual faith.
One has to wonder what really takes place during those big, white-smoke meetings behind Vatican walls. Are the words “abortion” and “sin” being tossed around, or is it all hollow smiles and handshakes? Politicians like Biden and Pelosi tout Catholic beliefs, then use the flimsy excuse of representing a diverse crowd to justify ignoring basic church doctrines. It seems they prefer to cherry-pick which Catholic values to publicly uphold while ignoring the ones that don’t fit their political agenda.

Let’s face it, if the Pope truly challenged these leaders on their abortion stance, the consequences should be severe according to church rules. But somehow, they keep coming back from the Vatican with photo ops and a slew of headlines, taking Communion as if their public support for pro-abortion policies is no big deal. It’s a slap in the face to devout believers who actually stick to their faith.
Their need to look virtuous in the public eye while ignoring the core beliefs of their supposed religion is nothing short of hypocrisy. It’s hard to believe the Pope could sit down with these two and not call them out for supporting actions that the Church views as grave sins. Either the warning was weak or it was just for show. Either way, it’s a betrayal to the many Catholics who value their faith over politics.
As the Church looks for a new Pope, one has to wonder what’s next. If they choose a leader who mirrors the compromising attitudes of politicians like Biden and Pelosi, what kind of message does that send? Americans who still hold traditional values are left questioning the very institutions that are supposed to fight for life and truth. When the moment of truth comes, will the Church have a spine, or will it continue down a wishy-washy road? It’s time for the faithful to demand answers.
