In a stunning example of how quickly the liberal media machine can rev up, Whoopi Goldberg decided to unleash her wrath on Karoline Leavitt just a day after the new White House press secretary’s debut. Why? Because apparently, Leavitt’s refusal to bow down to the altar of “wokeness” struck a nerve. Instead of defending her own positions, Goldberg insisted that Leavitt was handed her role due to benign factors connected to “wokeness.” Apparently, in the eyes of the left, uphill battles for competence and merit don’t exist—only the parameters of progressive virtue signaling.
Leavitt, who was once a candidate for Congress and has worked in the previous Trump administration, addressed the serious issue of federal grants during her briefing. She made it crystal clear that the pause on funding means the end of frivolous Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and the infamous Green New Deal. The truth-telling likely sent beads of sweat down the brows of the panel on “The View,” who were most definitely not yearning for a dose of reality. Naturally, the collection of “talking heads” could hardly contain their incredulity and indignation at the audacity of anyone daring to challenge the woke agenda.

Goldberg’s response was a bizarre mix of condescension and self-importance. In a fit of righteous indignation, she claimed that Leavitt wouldn’t have even been at the podium were it not for the very “wokeness” she denounced. This was rich, considering her insistence that Leavitt should do her “homework”—while demonstrably getting her basic facts wrong about Leavitt’s extensive experience. It seems that for Goldberg and company, facts no longer matter when it comes to protecting the sacred identity politics narrative.
As if to add to the absurdity, Joy Behar jumped in with a snide remark about Leavitt’s looks. This provided the panel with a delightful moment of hypocrisy where, on one hand, they expressed outrage over a perceived anti-woke sentiment while on the other, casually dismissed a woman’s professional qualifications based on her appearance. How very progressive of them. Perhaps they missed the memo that women don’t need validation through physical appearances—at least, not in the same manner they insist upon for men.
This tragicomic episode highlights the awkward reality that “The View” panelists find themselves clutching pearls while simultaneously embodying the principles they claim to oppose. Despite their heckling, it’s remarkably entertaining to watch them work themselves into a lather over Trump being back on the political scene. Without a doubt, the stream of vitriol and poorly thought-out arguments provides comedic relief to those who can appreciate the irony of their own madness.
So, let the good times roll. Leavitt’s front-line stance against wokeness and the absurd drama on “The View” offers insight into the left’s continued obsession with identity politics. One benefits immensely from this daily display of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) masquerading as thoughtful discourse. For anyone wishing to tune in to the melodrama of “The View,” five minutes should suffice—any longer, and one might find themselves questioning their overall sanity.
