A father, upset about his son’s encounter with the police, claimed that his son had done nothing wrong. However, upon closer examination, the facts suggest otherwise.
The father recounted how he felt scared during the traffic stop, which is understandable. No one wants to be in a situation with law enforcement that feels threatening. However, fear does not provide an escape from accountability. When the officer explained why he pulled over the vehicle, the father’s son should have listened. Instead, he chose to escalate the situation by refusing to comply with the officer’s requests and exhibiting belligerent behavior. This is not the behavior of someone who respects the law.
