ABC News is apparently on a mission to demonstrate just how low its journalistic standards can go, all while tripping over its own narrative in a ballet of bias. Fresh off a hefty $15 million settlement with Donald Trump for branding him a rapist on air, the network found itself in another quagmire, this time taking aim at Linda McMahon, Trump’s nominee to oversee the Department of Education. With George Stephanopoulos leading the charge, it seems the leftist media is determined to hurl baseless claims at anyone associated with Trump, legacy be damned.
In a recent report, ABC News ran a live segment where reporter Jay O’Brien decreed that McMahon has “no formal training and little experience in education.” This assertion would be laughable if it weren’t so ludicrously false. McMahon, it turns out, actually earned a teaching certificate decades ago while obtaining her bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University. It’s a shame ABC News seems to have left that little detail at the bottom of the cutting room floor, or perhaps it simply found truth to be an impediment to its agenda.

This ongoing distortion of facts about Trump’s appointees could be part of a larger strategy by the mainstream media to undermine the qualifications and credibility of anyone linked to the former president. McMahon, a successful businesswoman and an elected member of a university board, shouldn’t be dismissed as an unseasoned novice. Yet, somehow, ABC found it more pressing to paint her as an education cluelessness poster child, while failing to provide context or mention her relevant qualifications. It takes a special kind of creative misrepresentation to sell such slander without a hint of shame.
Furthermore, the report didn’t stop there. O’Brien’s attempt to undermine conservatives extended to co-founder of Moms for Liberty, Tiffany Justice, who was presented as just another “controversial conservative.” Meanwhile, there was a convenient omission of the profound connections between the National Education Association president Becky Pringle and the Democrat party, despite the NEA being a notorious cash cow for liberal candidates. This clear favoritism is not just funny; it exemplifies a systematic double standard that is humorously transparent.
The backlash didn’t take long to surface. Commentators quickly pointed out O’Brien’s lackluster fact-finding skills and inability to stick to the truth. Tony Kinnett, who took to Newsmax to dissect the reporting, ridiculed O’Brien for his major failings, indicating this isn’t just a singular incident but part of a broader pattern of misrepresentation. With every slip-up, ABC solidifies its reputation for slinging falsehoods rather than delivering accurate news. The networks’ credibility is already in the gutter, but at this rate, they seem hell-bent on shoveling more dirt on top of it.
The icing on the cake is that ABC didn’t learn its lesson from previous blunders which cost them millions. If anything, it’s appearing more like a circus than a news network, where the true act is not in reporting but in spinning tales that suit their agenda. The right side of the political spectrum can only sit back and witness the folly, while waiting for the next inevitable legal consequence to tumble down the pipeline for ABC News. One can only hope there’s a lesson to be learned here, yet somehow it seems unlikely that they’ll find their moral compass anytime soon.
