After a 2024 loss, Democrats should be focused on policy results, not sharpening their battle slogans. If the party wants broad appeal, it starts by choosing language that reassures, not alarms.
Demand clarity, not slogans
Before the outrage machine runs wild, get the full video and an official transcript. Ask Harris’ team to explain the phrase and be specific about what “ruthlessness” would look like in practice. Voters deserve clarity. Democrats deserve to be held to the same standard they demand of others. If the plan is simple: fight corruption and hold the line, then say it plainly. If the plan is something else, people should know now — not after a crisis of interpretation has already done damage.
