Biden Admin Launches Know2Protect to Shield Kids Online

The Biden administration is at it again, folks! This time they’re launching a brand-spankin’-new campaign called Know2Protect. And what are they protecting our kids from, you ask? Well, according to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the web is getting “darker and darker” with child sexual exploitation and abuse. Yikes! Mayorkas went on to describe the crime as unimaginably cruel and prevalent, with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children receiving a whopping 36 million reports of suspected online child sexual exploitation and abuse in 2023 (that’s a 360% increase from a decade ago, in case you’re bad at math).

But fear not, concerned parents and patriots! The Know2Protect campaign is here to save the day. This initiative aims to educate minors and adults about the dangers lurking on social media, online gaming networks, and other websites. Plus, they’ve roped in big shots like Google, Snap, Meta, and Intel to help spread the word. As if that’s not enough, sports leagues like NASCAR, the NFL, and MLB are also joining in to promote the campaign at their events.

But wait, there’s more! The Boy Scouts of America are on board too. Boy Scouts of America President and CEO Roger Krone said they’re all in to make sure their members know what’s acceptable behavior and how to handle confusing or unacceptable situations online. It’s like a superhero squad coming together to fight the evil forces of online predators!

And get this, Google, Snap, and YouTube are even donating ad space to run Know2Protect ads on their platforms. That’s some serious support, folks. This is a full-on, all-of-society effort, as Mayorkas put it. The DHS is leaving no stone unturned in their quest to keep our kids safe from online predators. And, no, despite what you might have heard, Mayorkas did not get distracted by questions about his Senate impeachment trial. His focus is on protecting our children, okay?

So, grab your popcorn and get ready for some action, ’cause the Know2Protect campaign is taking over Times Square and the internet to shield our youth from the dark corners of the web. And if that doesn’t make you feel safer, then, well, nothing will. Go, team!
