The Biden-Harris administration is back in the spotlight, and it’s not for their impressive culinary skills or affinity for ice cream. A recently released and heavily redacted report by the Department of Homeland Security’s Inspector General has revealed a shocking admission: the current administration has been letting illegal immigrants into the United States without properly vetting them for security risks. Imagine that—it’s almost as if they believe throwing open the borders is a great idea!
The report indicates that agencies responsible for keeping the homeland secure—Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)—have dropped the ball big time. They are allowing illegal aliens to enter the country and, wait for it, board domestic flights without proper identification. It seems that between all the red tape and “everything is fine” narratives, actual vetting has taken a back seat. TSA claims to rely on data from CBP and ICE to assess threats, but if there’s insufficient data, it turns out their methods may as well be a game of Russian roulette for air travel.
ICE itself has acknowledged that it doesn’t have the resources to detain every illegal immigrant lacking ID—41,500 beds and counting aren’t nearly enough for the surge of unauthorized entries. Meanwhile, CBP insists that any facilities they use are only meant for short-term housing. It appears that they are on a tight leash when it comes to keeping watch over those entering the country unlawfully. So, it raises a valid question: why are we allowing unvetted individuals to roam free among law-abiding citizens? But, of course, that might be a question for another day in this post-modern Alice in Wonderland we call America.

When confronted with the report’s findings, the Biden-Harris administration quickly dismissed it, claiming that the Inspector General’s statements were inaccurate and misleading. They assert that their approach already incorporates numerous measures to minimize risks and verify identities, which is puzzling given the glaring gaps exposed in the report. One could argue that the only thing they’re successfully managing is a solid PR campaign behind a flurry of bureaucratic excuses.
Republican Rep. Mark Green didn’t mince words, describing this reckless lack of vetting as “embarrassing.” In a world where common sense has taken a vacation, it’s incredible that the government needs an official watchdog to alert them to such basic safety concerns. The ongoing lack of accountability from the administration when it comes to public safety could raise eyebrows across party lines, but don’t expect any policy changes soon. After all, accepting the risk that high-risk individuals could be flying alongside innocent Americans is just part of the grand experiment in “modern governance” under the current administration.
