The White House Twitter account made some big claims just before Thanksgiving that costs for things like airline tickets, car rentals, toys, and TVs are down. They also said that the Biden-Harris Administration is working hard to give families some financial breathing room. However, not everyone was buying it! Tons of people responded to the post, pointing out that prices are actually higher now under President Biden compared to when President Trump was in charge.
Biden White House Claims 'Key Prices Are Down' in Time for Thanksgiving

One person shared a sarcastic reply, saying costs are still twice as high as they were under Trump, and another person pointed out that almost everything is more expensive under Biden. The White House is playing with the numbers to make things seem better than they really are. And Americans for Prosperity even shared a graphic showing that Thanksgiving dinners will cost 25 percent more this year than before COVID and Biden’s presidency.
Not only are people unhappy on social media, but the polls show it too. President Biden has an overall approval rating of 40.8 percent, and when it comes to inflation, it drops to just 33.6 percent. It’s clear that folks are not happy with the rising costs.
The White House also bragged about gas prices being down, but they’re still higher than when Biden took office. This isn’t the first time Democrats have tried to brag about gas prices either. In fact, they’ve been all over the place about it, blaming Russia’s Vladimir Putin when prices go up, but taking all the credit when prices go down.
Even the press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, tried to make it seem like things aren’t as bad as they really are. She claimed that gas prices are down $1.70 from their peak and that grocery inflation is at its lowest in two years. But it’s clear that this administration is getting desperate. It looks like they’re trying to distract people from the real issues, like rising costs and international problems, with talk of lower gas and grocery prices.
Overall, it seems like the White House is trying to spin a positive narrative about the economy, but people are seeing through it. They’re not addressing the big problems, like the hostage negotiations between Israel and Hamas, and it’s evident that their focus is on trying to make things look better than they really are. But the American people aren’t buying it!
