CNN’s political analyst Seung Min Kim echoed Bash’s sentiment, emphasizing that the president’s approval ratings are “not good at all.” The recent trip to Mexico by senior Biden administration officials was seen as an attempt to deflect criticism from Republicans regarding the administration’s handling of immigration. However, the region’s issues, according to Kim, are a result of the administration’s flawed policies, leading to mounting political pressure and anticipated compromises on immigration next month.
Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, shed light on the reasons behind Biden’s staggering inflation numbers, attributing them to the administration’s efforts to tout infrastructure investments and positive economic indicators. However, he pointed out that most Americans are still grappling with the aftermath of post-pandemic inflation, leading to increased prices and public discontent. Murray cautioned against the administration’s attempts to downplay the public’s economic struggles, warning of the political peril in dismissing people’s real-life experiences.
