President Biden’s grand finale is turning into a spectacular disaster that would be comical if it weren’t so tragic. As he nears the end of his presidency—one characterized by skyrocketing illegal immigration, jaw-dropping inflation, and foreign policy blunders that would make a seasoned diplomat cringe—he decides to crown it all by giving the Presidential Medal of Freedom to none other than Cecile Richards, the former head honcho of Planned Parenthood. This is the same organization that boasts a staggering record of millions of abortions under its belt.
To recap, Biden awarded this civilian honor to a woman who was at the helm of an organization responsible for the termination of countless innocent lives. In one of his most baffling moments yet, he took to social media to share a picture of this glorified moment, calling it an event that propels the nation closer to the so-called “freedom” that Americans supposedly cherish. If freedom now includes the right to end the lives of unborn children, then America is in dire straits.

Richards is praised for her crusade to, as Biden puts it, “defend and advance women’s reproductive rights and equality.” However, the notion of equality and freedom rings hollow when it seems that the only lives being defended are those of adults—the unborn children barely make an appearance in this so-called moral equation. It’s almost ironic how a discussion about rights and freedoms sidesteps the very essence of life for those who cannot speak for themselves.
During Richards’ time leading Planned Parenthood, from 2006 to 2011 alone, nearly two million abortions took place. This was part of a larger trend where, from 1973 to 2011, close to six million abortions were performed by the organization. Add the numbers that have trickled in since then, and you see a horrifying picture—a veritable genocide that goes unacknowledged by those who should be screaming about it from the rooftops. Richards didn’t just participate in the Democratic Party’s pro-abortion agenda; she pushed it front and center, and now it’s being celebrated as a legacy of courage.
Biden’s embrace of Richards and her controversial legacy appears to be his way of making a statement—albeit a deeply troubling one—that he’s all in on the culture of death. He talks about how she has “carved an inspiring legacy,” but one has to wonder what kind of inspiration one draws from a history involving the loss of millions of lives. Transforming a bitter reality into a narrative of rights, equality, and freedom is a tragic farce—abortion does not lift up these principles but stands in stark contrast to them.
As January approaches, it becomes glaringly obvious that Biden is determined to cement his status as one of the most controversial figures to occupy the Oval Office. His unrelenting choice to openly praise one of the leading figures of the abortion industry provides ample evidence that he is leaning into a legacy of moral decay. With actions like these, Biden isn’t just tarnishing his own presidency; he is casting a harrowing shadow over the very principles that once defined America.
