Johan Jose Rangel Martinez and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, both previously released by Border Patrol, stand accused of the brutal murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray.
Just months ago, Martinez and Ramos were caught crossing the border illegally in El Paso. Thanks to the lenient treatment accorded to such border crossers under the current administration, both individuals were allowed to walk freely into the United States. Fast forward to this week, and they allegedly ended the young life of Nungaray in the most heinous way.

Former President Donald Trump did not hold back in calling out President Joe Biden’s administration on this preventable tragedy. The former president took to Truth Social to emphasize how Biden’s shoddy immigration policies have endangered countless lives by allowing millions of illegal immigrants to flood into the nation unchecked. Similarly, the heart-wrenching case of Rachel Morin, a mother of five, raped and killed by an El Salvadoran immigrant last year, remains a glaring example of rampant border security issues. This particular suspect had been deported three times but managed to slip through the porous border a fourth time. Such repeated lapses are sadly becoming the norm under an administration that seems unwilling to take the firm action required to secure America’s borders.
The Biden administration’s immigration policies, riddled with dangerous leniency, continue to compromise the safety of American citizens.
