In a shocking turn of events, the top military leadership ordered by President Joe Biden to skedaddle out of Afghanistan had zero clue about the exact number of Americans still lurking in or near Kabul when the Taliban swooped back in to retake control. What a mess! And get this, they still haven’t got a clue about how many were left behind. Who’s running this show anyway?
Former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, spilled the beans during some jaw-dropping testimony on Tuesday. He let Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) in on the administration’s little secret – they didn’t have a clue about how many Afghan staff got abandoned, but what they did know was that a whole bunch of them got offed in pretty brutal ways. Yikes!

Milley admitted that when it came to knowing the precise number of Americans in Afghanistan at the time of the bungle, the troops were left in the dark. Talk about a major fail! According to him, getting accurate numbers of Americans in Afghanistan was always about as easy as finding a needle in a haystack. As if that wasn’t enough, the numbers for at-risk Afghans were all over the place too. It was a total fiasco, and Milley still isn’t sure about the accuracy of those numbers to this day. What a hot mess!
Smith, who’s been fighting for human rights and the forgotten Americans since the ’80s, was absolutely fuming about the whole debacle. He’s been pushing for answers ever since Biden’s chaotic and downright deadly withdrawal in August 2021. And you know what? Biden seems to want to sweep it all under the rug like it never happened. Unbelievable!
And if that wasn’t enough, the same kind of neglect is playing out in Haiti now, with the administration showing little to no effort to rescue Americans from the gangs terrorizing the island nation. It’s like they just want to pretend that these people don’t even exist. Outrageous!
This whole situation reeks of cruelty and incompetence. Smith is right to be outraged at Biden’s reaction, or lack thereof. It’s time to stop playing politics and start taking care of our own people. Get it together, Biden!
