In a stunning display of hypocrisy, President Joe Biden made a hasty exit from the Medal of Honor ceremony, claiming it was all part of his grand plan. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, ever the spin master, defended the president’s abrupt departure by insisting that it was “as planned.” According to her, Biden left during a pause in the event to minimize his close contact with attendees. But let’s be real, folks. Biden just didn’t want to stick around for too long.

But here’s the kicker: Biden didn’t even have his mask on during the end of the ceremony, despite Jean-Pierre’s earlier assurance that he would be masking up indoors as per CDC guidance. So much for leading by example, huh? Jean-Pierre tried to justify this blatant disregard for his own rules by claiming that Biden took off his mask to deliver “incredibly powerful remarks.” But come on, folks, we all know he wasn’t belting out any Oscar-worthy speeches on his way out. He was just trying to avoid answering any pesky questions from the press.

If Biden was so concerned about minimizing close contact, why couldn’t he keep his mask on? The double standards are simply mind-boggling. And it seems like even Biden recognizes his own hypocrisy, as he made a joke about not wearing his mask before giving remarks on Wednesday. He even had the audacity to say, “Don’t tell them I didn’t have it on when I walked in.” Well, Mr. President, the whole world knows now. It’s clear that his commitment to mask-wearing is nothing more than a political charade.
Let’s not forget the reason behind all this mask-wearing drama: First Lady Jill Biden testing positive for COVID. It’s alarming that the President of the United States can’t even follow the guidelines set by the CDC when faced with a personal connection to the virus. But hey, who needs consistency and integrity when you can just play fast and loose with the rules, right?
We deserve a leader who actually practices what he preaches. Biden’s disregard for his own mask mandates and his failure to follow CDC guidelines only further erodes our trust in his leadership. It’s time for him to step up and start walking the walk, not just talking the talk. Unfortunately, it seems that hypocrisy is the norm in the Biden administration, and that’s something we just can’t afford in these challenging times.
