Looks like Joe Biden might want to reconsider his presidential ambitions after his disastrous debate performance. His poll numbers are dropping faster than a lead balloon, and not even the Democratic Party’s usual trick bag of spin and PR seems capable of saving him. Apparently, the big question is whether Biden is taking his cues from the party or his family these days.
But honestly, does it even matter? The Democrats are looking more duplicitous by the minute, as even their own voters start scratching their heads and questioning their loyalty. The only thing certain is that the Biden camp thinks it’s in their best interest for Joe to keep running. They spent the weekend at Camp David patting him on the back and urging him to stay the course, showing that family support can trump all, even when reality is knocking.

Jill Biden and Hunter Biden are apparently Joe’s biggest cheerleaders. Jill, with her eyes on the potential power and prestige, seems to be playing a formidable game against dissenters within their own party. Hunter, on the other hand, has a slew of personal reasons to keep Joe in the race. Let’s just say he’s got his own interests that align conveniently with keeping Dad in the Oval Office.
Yet, why would anyone else with half a brain want to wade into this mess of a party platform right now? According to a new CBS News/YouGov survey, a whopping 72 percent of voters think Biden’s mental faculties aren’t up to snuff. And it’s not some insignificant poll—1,130 registered voters were surveyed, and the margin of error is just 4.2 percent. This isn’t a fluke; it’s a flashing red alert for Team Biden.
To add salt to the wound, CNN’s own data expert couldn’t help but admit that he’d never seen numbers this bad. Every Democrat they’re thinking of running against Trump is sinking in the polls. In other words, their bench is as weak as Joe’s debate performance, and that’s saying something. No one can magically turn these numbers around.
So here we are: Biden’s campaign is controlled by what looks like a family intervention, while Joe stares on, seemingly as baffled as American voters. The Democrats seriously miscalculated, and now they are stuck in a self-created inferno. Their only other option might be trying to stir up such chaos that they could threaten to shut down the country or cancel elections altogether. Given their track record, would anyone really be shocked?
