Stong public opposition to both legal and illegal immigration is a barrier to President Joe Biden's ambitious attempts to increase the number of foreign workers, consumers, and renters. Particularly in the wake of the 2008 housing crisis, Americans appear to be realizing that the long-standing "Nation of Immigrants" narrative, which dates back to 1965, might be doing more harm than good to the average American's ability to sustain a comfortable middle-class life. According to a recent Monmouth University Polling Institute survey, just 26% of Americans support Biden's immigration policies, with a sizable 69% against them. Interestingly, 67 percent of ethnic minorities and 47 percent of Democrats both express disapproval.

It is clear that most Americans do not agree with Biden's immigration policies. Many now consider Biden's immigration policy to be of the utmost importance, even more so than inflation. In mid-December, a Harvard CAPS Harris Poll revealed that 28% of participants ranked immigration as their most important issue, while 33% cited inflation. The fact that 57% of participants in the same survey think that Biden's immigration policies are causing an increase in drug entry into the nation is indicative of this shift in popular perception. The Biden administration is attempting to change its pro-immigration policies in reaction to its declining approval ratings. Asserting the GOP's role in curbing the disorderly flood of economic migrants entering the country through the asylum loophole at the border is the goal of ongoing conversations behind closed doors. But the administration is unwilling to give up Biden's expansive parole loophole, which enables the government to admit a sizable number of migrants out of the public eye. It's obvious that the mainstream media contributes to Americans' ignorance of the real scope and consequences of Biden's immigration policy. The New York Times, for example, minimizes the amount of migration made possible by Biden's parole program. The majority of Americans are uninformed of the potential effects on their nation in the future since the media has not adequately informed the people about the significant influx of migrants. There is an increasing need for harsher restrictions as people become more aware of the substantial surge in migration; many are calling for a return to Trump's border strategy. This is especially noticeable in the Jewish community, where a growing number of people increasingly see migration as a burden rather than an advantage. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll highlights the strong opposition to migration in the country. It shows that most Americans think that Biden's immigration policies are making life more difficult for everyone, and 40% of respondents want to see fewer people migrate. Four million more workers have entered the American labor market as a result of Biden's immigration policies, a development that business organizations support but which American workers view as harmful. It's clear that many Americans are experiencing poor wages, poverty, and a deteriorating quality of life as a result of the administration's immigration policy. In conclusion, it is becoming more and more clear that Biden's immigration policies are at odds with the desires of the American people and are making matters worse for them. The administration will need to address the rising dissatisfaction with its immigration strategy as public opinion continues to shift.
