Joe Biden’s presidency hit another low Thursday during what was supposed to be his triumphant “big-boy press conference” at the conclusion of the NATO summit in Washington, D.C. One might’ve expected a show of strength, but instead, Americans witnessed Sleepy Joe struggling to stay awake—literally. After the usual rambling and dodging, one particular exchange highlighted just how far gone this administration has become.
When taking a question from Felicia Schwartz of the Financial Times, Biden was asked point-blank if he even had the stamina to serve a second term. She laid it out plainly: the presidency is incredibly demanding, and Biden himself has admitted certain limitations. Cue the deer-in-the-headlights stare from Biden, who seemed baffled as he tried to recall his own words.
Schwartz referenced reports that Biden has to go to bed earlier now, somewhere around 8 PM. In response, Biden laughed it off, trying to spin it as a strategic decision to start his day earlier and end it sooner. He blundered through an explanation about starting fundraisers at 8 PM instead of 9 PM so that people could be home by 10 PM, then tried to assure everyone that his schedule had been “full bore” since his off-hand comment during a campaign debate. Good luck convincing anyone with that one.
Highlighting the ridiculousness, Biden attempted a pitiful comparison to former President Donald Trump, suggesting Trump has spent his post-presidency lounging in a golf cart while Biden toils through 20 major events. If only those events didn’t often end in Biden’s latest gaffe, maybe Americans wouldn’t be so concerned.
In a showcase of pure desperation, Biden brought out the infamous creepy whisper, noting that he loves his staff but they add things to his schedule that make his wife upset. Because clearly, what Americans need to hear during a NATO briefing is Biden’s domestic squabbles over bedtime.

This press conference was supposed to be Biden’s redemption arc after his monumental flop in the June 27 debate. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had been hyping this up as the president’s big chance to make everything right. Instead, it was more of the same—gaffe after gaffe, and a glaring confirmation that Biden’s mental faculties are slipping at an alarming rate.
America’s concern over Biden’s cognitive decline isn’t just fodder for late-night comedy skits; it’s a real, terrifying threat to national and global security. Under Biden’s “leadership,” the economy is tanking, crime has exploded, geopolitical tensions are skyrocketing, and the border is basically an open invitation.
What’s worse, Biden’s performance on the world stage projects weakness, making every American a sitting target in an increasingly dangerous world. This administration is a powder keg, and Biden’s bungled presidency is the spark that could set it all off. The country deserves better.
