It seems like President Joe Biden is getting a little ahead of himself by assuming that former President Donald Trump will be his main opponent in the 2024 general election. According to the New York Times, Biden is completely disregarding Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a potential challenger. Frankly, it’s about time someone recognized that DeSantis is not a threat to Biden’s presidency. But hey, maybe Biden just needs someone to focus on other than himself.

The Times also mentioned that the Democratic National Committee commissioned polling on how Trump and DeSantis would fare against Biden in battleground states. However, now that Trump’s lead in the Republican primary has become more solid, the Dems have dropped DeSantis from the equation. It’s clear that they have accepted the reality that Trump is their true opponent.
And let’s be honest, the polls are showing that Biden and Trump are the frontrunners for their respective parties. Real Clear Politics reports that Trump is leading the Republican field by an average of 44.9 percentage points. Who knew he still had this kind of support after all the indictments and investigations thrown his way? On the other side, Biden is leading the Democratic field by a whopping 51.1 percentage points.
So, it’s looking like we’re in for a Biden versus Trump rematch in 2024. The polls are showing a close race, although Trump seems to be gaining momentum lately. Maybe Biden should focus less on attacking Trump and more on figuring out how to make his presidency successful. Just a suggestion.
But Biden seems determined to go on the offense against Trump. He recently used some of his strongest language yet, accusing Trump of trying to “destroy” American democracy. He even plans to join striking autoworkers in Michigan, probably to grab some last-minute support before Trump visits the state. Let’s see if these tactics actually work.
Personally, it’s entertaining to watch Biden panic and shift his attention solely to Trump. It just goes to show that Trump still has a stronghold on the political landscape. Biden can try all he wants to discredit and attack his opponent, but it won’t change the fact that Trump has been a powerful force in American politics. Get ready for another epic showdown in 2024, folks!
