There’s a peculiar dance happening on the geopolitical stage, and it seems the Biden administration is leading the waltz backward. Whenever Israel makes headway in its longstanding battle against Iran, up pops the Biden team, ready to throw a lifeline to the very mullahs they should be keeping at arm’s length. The latest performance in this ongoing tragedy has come courtesy of Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who recently penned a letter that essentially puts a ‘please continue’ sign on Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
One has to wonder if the Biden crew has accidentally swapped their scripts. Just as Israel manages to score some well-deserved victories—like thwarting Iranian aggression or setting back their nuclear program—Blinken and Company roll in like a bunch of party crashers, fondly offering words of encouragement to Iran. Instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with an ally that faces existential threats, they seem more interested in appeasing a regime notorious for chanting “Death to America.” At the same time, they whip together the next round of enrichment.

The hypocrisy is astounding. The Biden administration touts its commitment to human rights and democracy yet aligns itself with a regime that literally makes a sport out of suppressing those very ideals. By continuously reaching out to the Iranian government, the administration appears to have backtracked on decades of American foreign policy that recognized Iran as a primary adversary in the region. It’s as if they’ve decided that a friendly pat on the back is the preferred diplomatic approach over, say, sanctioning a government that openly mocks everything America stands for.
Adding fuel to the fire is the timing of Blinken’s overtures. Just when it looked like Israel had success on the battlefield and in the political arena, here comes the administration to throw a bucket of cold water on things. Instead of celebrating Israel’s victories and fostering an atmosphere of solidarity against a common threat, Biden seems intent on showing Iran that their bad behavior can be smoothed over with a few well-placed letters and the occasional diplomatic gathering. It’s as if they’re saying, “Keep going, Iran. We admire your commitment to chaos!”
Meanwhile, as the Biden administration continues its reluctant tango with Tehran, Israel finds itself in an even more precarious position. With every diplomatic gesture towards the mullahs, the administration undercuts Israel’s confidence in American support. The result is a growing sense of isolation for Israel. At the same time, Iran is encouraged to press its luck, all under the watchful eye of a U.S. administration that appears more interested in getting a “noble peace” trophy than ensuring stability in the Middle East.
Calling this a strategic blunder might be putting it lightly. More accurately, it feels like a betrayal. By consistently undermining Israel’s gains against Iran, the Biden administration is not only inviting instability but also potentially paving the way for a nuclear-armed Iran. It seems the only thing holding Biden back from gifting Iran an “I’ve Been a Bad Boy” bonus is Blinken’s weekly letter-writing campaign. The future looks more and more like a reckless game of geopolitical twister, and the American people are left wondering why their leaders can’t stick to a side that promotes freedom over fanaticism.
