In a stunning twist of events, the Biden administration’s claims of success at the border have been debunked by none other than Customs and Border Protection (CBP). While the White House has been busy patting itself on the back for a drop in border crossings, the latest numbers tell a different story. According to data from the CBP, arrests between southern ports of entry rose to a staggering 177,000 in August. That’s an increase from the previous months, with family units being the largest demographic among those stopped.

But wait, there’s more! When you consider the estimated 50,000 encounters at ports of entry, the total number of encounters in August skyrockets to around 230,000. That’s a substantial increase from July and June. And let’s not forget the year-over-year comparison, which reveals nearly 30,000 more encounters this August than in 2022. These numbers paint a clear picture of a border crisis that the Biden administration would rather ignore.
Of course, the White House has its own spin on the situation. They claim that their policies, such as granting parole and restricting certain asylum claims, have led to a drop in encounters. But with nearly 7 million migrant encounters since Biden took office, it’s hard to believe their excuses. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki had the audacity to declare that Biden has done more to secure the border than anyone else. Seriously? Does she think we’re all fools?
Unsurprisingly, Psaki also decided to play the blame game, pointing a finger at Republicans for the broken immigration system. But the truth is, Biden and his team have failed to address the crisis head-on. They are more interested in playing politics than protecting our borders. And it’s not just conservatives who are calling them out. Even media observers and pundits from all sides of the political spectrum are incredulous at the administration’s claims.
It’s clear that the Biden administration is relying on gaslighting and misinformation to cover up their lack of action. They think they can pull the wool over our eyes, but we’re not buying it. The American people deserve a president who will prioritize their safety and enforce our immigration laws. It’s time for Biden to stop playing politics and start taking real action to secure our border. Otherwise, the crisis will only continue to worsen.
