Biden’s FEMA Fails NC Families Stranded in Snow After Hurricane

In the latest example of Biden’s administration failing Americans while prioritizing everyone but them, North Carolina families are braving snow in tents after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc on their lives. As winter settles in, these individuals—some with small children—are facing not just the aftermath of a hurricane, but now a snowstorm that has dumped several inches on an already miserable situation.

It’s remarkable how taxpayers have been footing the bill for hotel rooms and other perks for illegal immigrants while American citizens are left out in the cold—quite literally. FEMA, the government’s supposed safety net, has run out of hotel vouchers, trapping families in makeshift tents as Thanksgiving approaches. While many hope for a warm, cozy holiday filled with food and family, instead, they are battling freezing temperatures with only thin fabric to shield them from the elements. This generous holiday spirit is clearly a luxury that the government seems to reserve for those who haven’t legally entered the country.

Fox News has been on the ground reporting the plight faced by these displaced families near Asheville. Their mobile homes were destroyed weeks ago, and the promised recovery has been painfully sluggish to materialize. A snowstorm right now is the last thing they need. The tale of one mother stands out, expressing heartfelt frustration at her situation and the difficulties of keeping children warm and comfortable in these dire conditions. This isn’t just a story about bad weather; it’s a stark illustration of government neglect.

The government response, or lack thereof, has not only been slow; it has been downright disappointing. Reports indicate that while recovery efforts languish, FEMA has been busy spending a staggering amount—over $1 billion, to be exact—supporting illegal immigrants. This raises serious questions about priorities. If the federal government were truly prepared for disaster response, it clearly isn’t reflected in the situation these families find themselves in after weeks of inaction.

The Biden administration continues to chase after climate change funding overseas while ignoring desperate citizens freezing in their backyards. Instead of focusing on stopping mythical climate crises in the Amazon, the administration should pivot to providing urgent assistance to the people of North Carolina. In this time of crisis, it’s apparent that American citizens deserve better than government indifference; they deserve aid, attention, and the resources to rebuild their lives.
