President Joe Biden’s loose lips strikes again! In a baffling move, Biden spilled the beans on top-secret negotiations regarding Israeli hostages during a chat with late-night host Seth Myers. It’s hard to tell what’s more surprising — the fact that Biden was discussing such sensitive matters on a talk show, or the fact that he was predicting the imminent success of negotiations that had all parties involved rolling their eyes.

But wait, there’s more! Biden didn’t stop there. He also let slip that Israel had reportedly offered to halt the war during the upcoming Islamic holy month of Ramadan. This revelation not only put Israel in an uncomfortable position but also exposed a bargaining chip that was intended as just that — a negotiation offer, not a set-in-stone commitment.
Israeli government spokesperson Tal Heinrich promptly set the record straight, clarifying that there was no accord with Hamas and labeling the group’s demands as utterly “outlandish” and “from another planet.” To drive home the point, she quoted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks about Hamas’s demands, emphasizing that they were so far-gone that they weren’t even in the same universe.
Heinrich reaffirmed that the United States and Israel remained aligned in their objectives regarding the war, dispelling any notion of daylight between the two allies. However, she made it abundantly clear that Hamas’s demands were nothing short of “delusional” and emphasized the need for the group to come back down to earth.
