Joe Biden’s political future is swirling down the drain faster than anyone could have predicted. The guy might just hang on to his candidacy by a thread, but at this point, it’s more out of pure stubbornness than any reasonable strategy. With no serious pressure from the Democratic Party’s establishment and his own disregard for mounting critiques, Sleepy Joe appears unwilling to read the writing on the wall. He’s probably just as electable as Kamala Harris or any of the other hopeless Democrats lining up to lose in 2024, but c’mon, we all know he’s barely managing to fulfill presidential duties.
The cracks in Biden’s well-protected facade are becoming glaringly obvious, no matter how much the media tries to paint a pretty picture. His latest debate performance was nothing short of disastrous, laying bare the decline that everyone with a pair of eyes has seen coming. Every passing day, more Democrats are voicing their concerns, urging Biden to step aside. To add insult to injury, the news cycle is increasingly more damning for the sitting president.
Just this morning, the whispers turned into roars. Democrat Adam Schiff joined the chorus asking Biden to bow out. Biden himself hinted he’d consider stepping down if faced with a medical condition. Well, health-watchers, brace yourselves: two-thirds of Democrats polled believe he should resign. The odds of Biden throwing in the towel are climbing faster than a monkey on a banana tree.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more chaotic, Biden tests positive for COVID-19. Now, while this virus might be a mild inconvenience for most, for someone as old and frail as Joe, it’s like a ticking time bomb. This diagnosis could very well be the final nail in his political coffin. Biden just pledged he’d drop out if hit by a medical condition—COVID might just be his golden parachute. Either he steps down gracefully, or worse, the virus does what his critics have been rallying for anyway.

Meanwhile, the Republican National Convention is going full throttle on the anti-Biden train. The party’s speakers snapped up this golden opportunity, dedicating two days to Biden-bashing spectacles. With prepared scripts and coordinated attacks slotted for tonight and Friday, they’ve turned the convention into a Biden-roasting gala.
But if Biden does get out of the race, will all these meticulously planned onslaughts go to waste? The GOP’s delegates and guests in Milwaukee are already reacting with a mix of disbelief and confusion to the Biden-COVID news. Sure, it’s another embarrassment on the long list of Democratic disasters, but the uncertainty might just throw a wrench into the Republican machine as well. Chaos might be the one thing Democrats excel at, but it’s up to the GOP to play their cards right and capitalize on this unraveling circus.
