Tensions have continued to rise on Capitol Hill this week as Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert took a courageous stand, introducing articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden. The impeachment articles, which include one count of abuse of power and one count of dereliction of duty, have been a long time coming, as Biden has repeatedly weakened America’s borders and allowed an influx of illegal immigrants.
Boebert has accused Biden of facilitating a “complete and total invasion” at the southern border by ending important immigration policies put in place by his predecessor, including Title 42. In May alone, Customs and Border Protection recorded over 200,000 encounters with illegal migrants. Such a disaster could not go unacknowledged, and Boebert’s move to impeach the President was a brave and commendable one.
BREAKING: I am bringing my articles of impeachment against Joe Biden to the House Floor in a privileged motion, meaning that every Member of Congress must vote on holding Joe Biden accountable.

Other Republican representatives have also shown support for Boebert’s impeachment articles. Florida’s Rep. Matt Gaetz and Arizona’s Rep. Elijah Crane have sponsored the motion, giving it even more legitimacy. Even Georgia’s Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who introduced her own impeachment articles last month, has voiced support for Boebert’s move, despite Boebert’s failure to co-sponsor her initiative.
However, Boebert’s motion has faced some opposition, even from members of her own party. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer appears hesitant to support the impeachment articles, expressing concerns about due process and committee procedures. Nevertheless, Boebert’s move has been a bold one, and it is critical that Republicans continue to hold Biden accountable for his failures. While impeachment may be difficult to achieve, it is necessary to send a clear message that America’s borders and sovereignty cannot be threatened without consequence.
